Hamilton/Lauraville Makes Tuesday Special with its "Tuesday Market"
|
At the Tuesday Market in the Hamilton/Lauraville Main Street, residents often make an evening of shopping and then dining with friends at the thoughtfully provided picnic tables. Though I do not have a picture of children playing, the Tuesday Market is very family-friendly. It is not unusual to see kids hula-hooping among the vendors! The Tuesday Market features all locally produced goods, such as these displayed here from the Green Onion. In the background of this photo, you can see two residents inspecting the crops at the Hamilton Crop Circle's hoop tent. |

What makes an evening out even more special? Wine, of course! Patrons have grown to count on DeJon Vineyard's presence at the Tuesday Market, where one can buy a bottle (or more!) or a tasting. Located in Baltimore County, DeJon Vineyard offers seven exquisitely handcrafted, award-winning wines. |
Downtown's Sunday Market

On Sunday mornings, people flock to the farmer's market downtown, where one can buy everything from fresh blueberries and peaches to artisanal cheese, a wide variety of mushrooms, and a cup of that famous Zeke's Coffee. |

|
Some of Baltimore's best prepared foods, such as the Curry Shack's veggie pockets, are also sold on Sunday mornings. Curry veggie pocket for breakfast? Why not! |

The farmer's market has a whole "wing" just for handcrafted items like jewelry, soap, ladies' accessories, and stained glass. |

Fresh flowers everywhere! |

Commerce in action. You can't tell by looking at all of these serious faces, but this market is also a very social affair, where it is easy to run into co-workers and friends. |
